Ms Lee goes to Summer School!

Recently, I took a class called Using Design Education to Investigate Animal and Human Needs. As part of the class, I visited The Waterworks Museum, The Franklin Park Zoo and Learning By Design (Boston Society of Architects.) Each day, I learned about more about the design process from the educators who work at each site.
Here is one version of the engineering design process:
 


On the last day of the class, I made a PowerPoint to show students in each stage of the design process.














 
 The final design challenge for our group of teachers was to build a shelter for two people with the materials provided (cardboard tubes and packing tape.) Below is a picture of our final product.

 I had a great week and can't wait to share what I learned with my students at the Sumner Elementary!
